Why is it so hard for us to accept change? This is a question I would love to hear a concrete answer to. Is it because we as humans like to feel comfortable in what we know, or is change really that scary? Why would adaptable beings be so afraid of something that should come easy to them? Throughout the Bible we are being told to change, from our attitudes, to our minds..but why is it so hard? Of course it is easier said than done, and most people would stay in the same position forever as long as they know exactly what is going to happen. Change is risky, yes, but in my 26 years of life, I have found that change is almost always for the better. It may seem bad and sometimes heartbreaking depending on the situation, but in the end you either end up with some knowledge, a better position or around different people. Change is good, it is constant and guaranteed! Embrace it.
SCRIPTURES ON CHANGE:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
– ROMANS 12:2
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
-2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-18
“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is”
-1 JOHN 3:2
“For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law as well.”
