New Year’s Resolutions!

As you all know, 2018 is on the horizon and with that comes the opportunity for  fresh starts and new beginnings! Let me start off by saying that I graciously pray that you all have a wonderful year full of new experiences and growth. I have honestly been thinking a lot about the upcoming year, as I’m sure most of you have as well  and I have narrowed my long list of goals to the ones that are top priorities. I know that this upcoming year will be one to reckon with, I have already started to feel the shift in the atmosphere. I’ll be honest, I have already taken the initiative and given myself a head start on my new year, I believe new years resolutions are goals that you have to prep yourself for way before the new year begins. I have also found that the key to remaining focused on your resolutions are to be SPECIFIC! Having a resolution like eating healthier or losing weight are good, but to actually accomplish those goals you have to speak into existence exactly what steps you will take in executing those goals.

God :

I want to start off by dedicating an hour of my personal time outside of the church environment and regular prayers to just bask in his glory and goodness. There is no greater feeling than being in his presence and I pray that I am able to do that more.

John 15:5

I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me[that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.(AMP)

 Relationships :

God is love, I want to work on loving people the way that Jesus loved/loves people and that plays into my first resolution. I want to be able to sow all that I can into cultivating the relationships God has placed in life. I want to love people by being more generous, humble and learning  how to forgive and forget as Jesus did.

John 15:13

No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends.(AMP)

Body :

I want to work out five days a week for at least 45 minutes, our body is a temple and although it is the only one we are provided with; it is not our own. It is essential that we take care of it by working out and taking in the proper nutrients.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]?(AMP)

I want to pay off any and all debt within 8 months of the new year beginning

 Romans 13:8

Owe nothing to anyone except to love and seek the best for one another; for he who [unselfishly] loves his neighbor has fulfilled the [essence of the] law [relating to one’s fellowman].  (AMP)

I can’t believe that in sixteen days that 2017 will be over! Have you already written or thought of your plans for the upcoming year? If not, I challenge you to do so and  to think of the things in your life that you would like to see manifested. Comment below so that I may be a source of encouragement and accountability to you!

  1. I pray that you do find that true intimate connection/ relationship with God. There are many things in life that we “humans” don’t understand. But do you know that God’s ways and thoughts are not our thoughts nor our ways? I want to encourage you and let you know that God is in control, if it seems like things are going left/ hayward … remember to always rely on His voice (the Holy Spirit). The moment you chose to accept Christ is the moment you were purchased into His Kingdom. “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.” Stay strong, LEARN & GROW! God Bless You! 🙂
